About The Rampage
Our Mission: to educate, intrigue and excite the people of Mineral Ridge and beyond with the freshest community content available.
The Rampage is the student newspaper of Mineral Ridge High School in Mineral Ridge, Ohio. This year, The Rampage operates out of Mr. Jennings’s first period Journalism class. Mr. Jennings is currently in his third year as the adviser of The Rampage.
In 2009, The Rampage was named Most Improved Newspaper at Youngstown State University’s Press Day. Also that year, junior staffer John Cruz was named Staff Member of the Year and Mr. Jennings Adviser of the Year.
In 2010, The Rampage won over 40 group and individual awards on both the state and local levels, including second place at the Ohio Scholastic Media Association awards at Kent State and Best Overall Newspaper at YSU’s Press Day.
As of the 2010-2011 school year, The Rampage will operate as an online publication for the first time in its history. This new format will allow readers to access original Rampage content at any time, from anywhere.
In 2011, The Rampage was named best overall student newspaper in the tri-country area at YSU’s Press Day for the second consecutive year.
The Rampage, your school’s newspaper, is online and continues to serve as the voice of the Mineral Ridge High School student body. We strive to represent you as best we can, but sometimes we need your help.
As has always been our publishing policy, we gladly accept freelance submissions and letters to be considered for publication. All submissions are subject to the editorial process. Also, you’re able to respond to any article we publish on our site directly below each article as a comment that will be seen by all who visit the site, as long as you provide your real name.
The Rampage recognizes all opinions and viewpoints as valid and worthy of reasonable discussion. We will continue to provide you with fresh, smart, and exciting content, and we encourage you to join us.
